NJCPA Summer Tour of President's County - Hudson County Friday, July 29, 2022
Each year the County Planners Association has an annual Summertime meeting that showcases unique locations with in our President's home County. This year's tour was of Hudson County - home to President Francesca Giarratana .
On July 29, 2022, members of NJCPA met at Liberty State Park Hudson-Bergen Light Rail before heading to Bayonne where they heard presentations from NJ Transit staff and Bayonne City Planner - Sue Mack. Later on, NJCPA members visited the Harrison PATH Station where highlights were shared by McKinley Mertz of Heyer, Gruel, & Associates; and Dene Lee of the Open Space Institute shared information at the "Essex-Hudson Greenway" junction in Kearny. Later that afternoon, after a delicious lunch at Salumeria Ercolano in Jersey City - Tanya Marione, Director of Jersey City Planning greeted the tour group in the Journal Square neighborhood. Around 20 members of NJCPA enjoyed great weather and fellowship, as they learned more about some of the unique gems of Hudson County. It was a fantastic day to spend together in person after two years' of President Tours had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
